About Sacha Inchi – Your FAQ's, Answered!
What is Sacha Inchi protein?
It’s a protein from a beautiful star-shaped fruit pod, originating from the Peruvian Amazon! The sustainable crop is grown on vines and produces a stunning fruit with nutrient-rich seeds. These superfood seeds have been used for centuries, dating back to the Incas. Sacha Inchi translates to “The People’s Seeds” and has incredible healthy properties and is a complete plant protein.
Where is Sacha Inchi grown?
Sacha Inchi was first discovered and grown in Peru, but can now be found in Laos and Cambodia.
How is the protein sourced from the fruit pods?
The protein from Sacha inchi is made from the de-fatted seed pods, removed from the fruit. They are cold pressed to extract the Sacha Inchi oil and then dried into a powder — the protein powder is what is then blended into our smoothie mixes.
How is it different from other plant proteins?
Sacha Inchi is so special because it is a complete plant protein, whereas most plant proteins need to be combined to give us all that our bodies need! It contains all 9 essential amino acids – which means it’s an incredible source of amino acids! It has zero cholesterol and is full of natural antioxidants. In our humble opinion (and after tasting hundreds of proteins and plant-based ingredients), it’s the best tasting, best nutritionally complete plant protein out there!
